...the Old Pottery
... the Residence

 fully self-contained apartments, family owned.

This exclusive Etty Bay accommodation borders both the Moresby Range National  Park and Etty Bay beach and is close to the centre of the World Heritage Wet Tropics Area.
Local Cassowaries wander freely around the grounds as our yard is a part of their territory. Butterflies, birds, frogs, mammals, reptiles,  and other wildlife abound in the lush tropical vegetation. An attractive sculpture by renowned artist Ben Trupperbaumer stands in the front yard.

The two comfortable fully self-contained apartments stand on the site of what was ‘the shack’. In the 1950′s, the shack was a traditional holiday retreat for a local Innisfail family and friends. Over two generations, the family has built and extended the present residence on the original elevated site, to high standards. This is the easternmost building at Etty Bay with expansive ocean views.

The Residence and Old Pottery are still holiday retreats for the family but as they now work and live in places other than Innisfail, the private living areas are usually available for holiday rental.

The Etty Bay Surf Life Saving Club carnival is held each year in September or October - more details here.
NB: the accommodation is usually booked out by carnival visitors

Food, glorious food !

Guests at Etty Bay usually prefer to do their own cooking as there are no restaurants in the immediate area. The Old Pottery kitchen is a chef's kitchen for just this reason.
There is an abundence of good food choice available locally; from the supermarkets and delis in Innisfail, Northern Small Goods in South Johnstone for in-house produced products, to Rusty's Market in Cairns for farm produce. The nearby Atherton Tableland is a major agricultural region.
A very useful and comprehensive web site covering the topic is Australian Tropical Foods.
